If you want to have fun during the night, Tokyo is the perfect city to do it in. You can go to perfect clubs with great sound systems, meet friendly locals and admire the great fashion.

Something that will surprise most people is the fact that clubs close at midnight. On the other hand, bars close in the morning, at 5AM.
Roppongi is the place to go if you want to socialize with people. There are a lot of bars in this area and plenty of places to do karaoke if you enjoy that sort of thing. Karaoke is an important part of japanese nightlife, so you should probably do it only if you have a good voice.
If you prefer some privacy, you can rent a small room that has microphones, tambourine and a dancing pole, together with a few drinks.
