Flights To Tokyo
If the only reason why you didn’t visit Japan yet is because you believe it’s too expensive, forget about that. The prices aren’t that high, so just go. As long as you don’t go to fancy restaurants to eat or sleep in high end hotels, you can easily afford travelling to this beautiful country. It’s pretty much the same as the price of travelling in Europe or the US.
There are plenty of cheap flights if you want to go to Tokyo, but the problem is the duration, which can easily go beyond 12 hours. Once you get to the airport, you will see a lot of Japanese signs around, but you can easily manage, since what you really need is translated in English. Once you get past the customs, go to the information desk and you will receive a free map. Also, ask them to show you where you can take the train.
There are two main airports serving Tokyo: Haneda (domestic flights) and Narita (international flights). Narita Airport is 70km away from Tokyo and it’s quite modern, though overcrowding can be an issue. Over 35 million passengers passed through this airport in 2007
To get to Tokyo from the airport it will cost you around $30 if you go by bus or train, but it will be extremely expensive if you take the cab. It has two terminals, each with their own underground train station. To get from one terminal to another you need to take the shuttle bus.
